Temple Comes Out On Top Against Army, 3-2

WEST POINT - Temple went five games with Army, coming out with its 13th victory of the season. Led by sophomore Patricia Vernon, TU won the match with the scores of 29-31, 30-17, 30-21, 23-30, 16-14.
In the 3-2 win, Patricia Vernon posted 19 kills and five block assists, while Yue Liu (15) and Christina DeMarco (14) combined for 29 of Temple's 67 kills. Strong play at the net extended with TU out blocking Army 16 to 5, DeMarco having two solo and seven block assists. Defensively Yan Liu (22) and Yue Liu (18) led the way for the Owls. Ying Sun Ling contributed eight kills, two services aces, and 11 digs in the tough win.
Danielle Cooper (20 kills) and Jamie Clark (11 kills) led Army on the offensive end, while Eileen Cassidy led the team with 20 digs. Rachel Dunn (one block) and Briana Stremick (two blocks) both added seven kills to Army's effort.
Temple improves to 13-10 overall and Army falls to 16-5 after the match at West Point.
The Cherry and White travel back to Philadelphia for a week off before they host LaSalle on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7:00pm.
