Friday's Fall World Series Postponed Until Saturday

AMBLER, PA - The Temple baseball team will conclude its non-traditional fall season with the Cherry and White World Series on Saturday, October 21. at 11:00 a.m. The Owls will be divided into a Cherry team and a White team and play a best of seven series consisting of two-inning games. The series will be played at Skip Wilson Field in Ambler, Pa.

"We've created competition at every position and the Fall Classic is a great way for us to end our fall season," second-year head coach Rob Valli said. "The three-inning format allows us to simulate the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings of a ballgame. 

"We expect to win every time we take the field and realize that games are often decided in the late innings," Valli continued. "Our goal is to always practice at game speed and create pressure situations whenever we can."

Pitching coach Justin Gordon will manage the Cherry team, while assistant coach Casey Fahy will manage the White team. Team captains for the series are the Owls' only seniors Dan Brady and Rob Licata. They are responsible for setting the starting lineup and pitching rotation.

"We are looking forward to this competition," Licata said. "I know Dan put together a solid squad, but we are a fundamentally sound team. There is no doubt in my mind that we will rise to the occasion and perform like champions."

"It is tough to find the perfect combination of talent, heart and coaching but we have found it," Brady said. "We expect our team to come ready to win."
