AMBLER, PA - Senior Dan Brady had three hits and drove in game-winning runs in two of the team's four wins to lead the White team to a 4-1 victory in the Cherry and White Series on Saturday at Skip Wilson Field. Each game in the series was two-innings, except for the decisive game five, which White won 4-2 in an extra frame.
In game one, Brady's two-run double to left provided winning pitcher Tom Dolan all the support he needed for a 2-0 win by the White team.
White won the second game of the series, 2-0, behind a RBI-single by freshman 2B Matt Heltz. Freshman Kyle Monahan earned the win and Dolan again came up big, throwing out the potential game-tying run in the bottom of the second.
Winning pitcher Rob Chamra fought out of a bases-loaded, one out situtation in the final inning to put the White team ahead 3-0 in the series with a 1-0 victory. The freshman induced an inning ending twin killing to halt the Cherry rally.
Sophomore transfer Tom Bingham (Winthrop) picked up the win in game four for the Cherry team, 2-1.
In game five, junior Lucio Rainelli had a two-run double and Dolan also doubled in a run in 4-2 White win. Sophomore Matt Mongiardini earned the win.
Heltz and sophomore catcher Kyle Obal had three hits for the Owls.
The Cherry and White series marked the end of the non-traditional fall season for Temple. The Owls open the 2007 campaign on February 16 at UNC WIlmington.
