Temple Takes La Salle 3-0 On Senior Night

PHILADELPHIA - The Owls beat La Salle in three games with the scores of 30-19, 30-17, 30-25 in their last home game of the 2006 season. Temple took time to honor its three seniors: Yan Liu, Maira Mogollon, and Jessica Waybrant for their dedication to the team in their careers at Temple.
Junior Yue Liu kept the Owls alive in game three with two huge kills and finished the night with 15 kills, 14 digs, and four service aces. Sophomore Patricia Vernon (10) and junior Ying Sun Ling (nine) contributed 19 of Temple's 47 kills. In their senior leadership roles, Maira Mogollon led the Owls with 33 assists while Yan Liu posted team high 16 digs. Junior Christina DeMarco played a solid role at the net with five kills and three blocks.
Erin Sullivan led the Explores with nine kills and Carolyn Judge racked up 12 digs. La Salle's hitters combined for 31 kills with Caitlin Conner dishing out 25 assists. La Salle out blocked the Owls 9-5 with Christa Dominick adding six blocks in the Explorer's effort.
With a four game win streak, the Cherry and White improve to 14-10 (6-3 in the conference). La Salle falls to 0-9 in the A-10 conference after tonight's match and 8-20 overall.
The Owls travel to Fordham for a conference match this Friday (Oct. 27) at 7:00 pm.
