PHILADELPHIA -Temple continued its three-match winning streak on Tuesday night, beating Bucknell, 3-0. Junior Christina DeMarco led the Owls on the offensive end with 14 kills, while junior Yue Liu led the defense with 15 digs. TU won the match with the scores of 31-29, 30-15, 30-20.
Christina DeMarco had a break-out first game, leading the Owls with seven kills, four digs and one service ace. After trailing in game one, both freshman Glory Epelle (two) and sophomore Patricia Vernon (one) had big blocks at the net to lead the Owls to victory. Vernon also added 11 of TU's 52 kills. Senior Maira Mogollon did a great job distributing the ball to her hitters, totaling 41 assists and contributed eight digs.
Jenna Henderson led the Bison with 10 of the team's 32 kills. Kristen Sydlowski set the bar on defense racking up 19 digs.
Temple improves to 10-8 overall, 3-1 in the A-10,while Bucknell falls to 10-9 after tonight's match.
The Cherry and White travel to Dayton this Friday to take on the Flyers at 7:00pm.
