Villanova Takes Temple in Three

VILLANOVA - Temple fell short on Wednesday night in a non-conference match-up against Villanova, losing to the Wildcats in three games. 'Nova took the match with scores of 30-24, 30-28 and 30-17.
Junior Yue Liu continued to lead the squad with a team-high nine kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Patricia Vernon contributed five of TU's six blocks and five kills. Juniors Ying Sun Ling and Christina DeMarco and freshman Glory Epelle each added five kills. Returning Villanova's attacks, senior Yan Liu came up with 14 digs on the night.
Villanova out powered the Owls with 51 kills and 16 blocks. Kacy Sellers (12), Alona Cherkez (11), and Adrian Semrau (10) combined for 33 of the Wildcats' kills. Amy Gulyas led VU on the defensive end with 15 digs while Chelsea Graman (23) and Jenna Link (20) shared the assists.
With the loss, Temple falls to 14-12 overall and 6-4 in the A-10 conference and Villanova improves to 15-13 on the season.
Friday November 3 Temple takes the short drive up Broad Street to take on LaSalle at 7:00pm.
