Volleyball Places Three on All-Conference Teams

Philadelphia- After clinching its second straight Atlantic 10 East Division title, the Temple volleyball team continues to rack up postseason honors by placing three student-athletes on the A-10 All-Conference Teams. Junior Yue Liu was voted to the A-10's First Team, while sophomore Patricia Vernon and junior Ying Sun Ling earned spots on the Second team.
This is the second straight First team selection for Liu, who was voted the A-10 Rookie of the Year in 2004. Liu has led the Owls on both the offensive and defensive end with 420 kills and 363 digs. She ranks second in the A-10 in kills and became the 11th Owl to earn her 1,000th career kill. She is now ranked 10th on the career list with 1220 kills
Vernon is Temple's leading blocker, posting 67 block assists and 29 block solos for a total of 96 total blocks. She is tied for second on the team in kills with 270 and has earned 75 digs.
Ying Sun Ling has been the Cherry and White's top defensive specialist for the past three seasons. She is third in digs with 299 and has earned 1,028 career digs. She is also third in kills with 241.
Temple (16-13 overall, 8-5 A-10) enters the 2006 Atlantic 10 Tournament as the second seed and, by finishing first in the East Division, has clinched a first round bye. The Owls will take on the winner of the #3 Saint Louis/#6 Fordham or #4 Xavier/#5 Charlotte match-ups, depending on the highest seed remaining, on Saturday, November 18 at 5 p.m.
