Temple Turns the Losing Streak Around Beating La Salle 3-0

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple Owls turned around their two game losing streak Friday night at Tom Gola Arena, facing off against the La Salle Explorers in an Atlantic 10 conference match. The Owls won 3-0 in the match by scores of 30-15, 30-24, 30-19. La Salle falls to 9-22 overall and 0-11 in the conference, while TU improves to 15-12 overall and 7-4 in the A-10.
The Owls were led by sophomore Patricia Vernon with 15 kills and three blocks and junior Yue Liu with 14 kills and two blocks. Junior Ying Sun Ling also contributed eight of Temple's 54 kills. Setter senior Maira Mogollon assisted on 30 kills for the Owls and freshman Jackie Morrison assisted on an additional 14 kills. Defensively, senior libero Yan Liu tallied 15 digs while Yue Liu led the team with 16 digs.
Brittany Hanley led the Explorers on offense with nine kills while Danielle DiMarco had eight kills eight digs on defense. Carolyn Judge finished with 16 digs for the night.
The Cherry and White take a week off and next travel to Charlotte on November 10th to take on the 49ers at 6:00pm.
