Owls Look to Make it Two in a Row When They Host Western Michigan Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA- Temple (5-4) hopes to continue its winning ways and make it two in a row when it hosts Western Michigan (4-6) on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Owls are 2-1 thus far against Mid-American Conference opponents this season. This the first meeting for the Owls and the Broncos.
All-America candidate Kamesha Hairston led four double-figure scorers for the Owls en route to an 88-70 win over Miami (OH) on Sunday. Hairston posted her fourth double-double (23 points, 13 rebounds) in the last five outings, including a first-half double-double of 21 points and 10 boards. All of this came in just 23 minutes of play. Lady Comfort poured in 20 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field. Freshman guard Kristie Watkins-Day had a career-best 11 points on four-of-nine shooting.Hairston leads Temple in scoring and rebounding, averaging 22.3 ppg and 9.8 rpg. Fatima Maddox is second with 13.8 ppg and Comfort is third, averaging 12.0 ppg. Freshmen Jasmine Stone and LaKeisha Eaddy continue to put up great numbers, with Stone second in rebounding (5.7rpg) and Eaddy first in assists (34).
The Broncos will be well rested for tonight's matchup, after a 10-day break. Western Michigan last saw action on Dec. 9, upending IUPUI, 78-63. Senior Carrie Moore scored a game-high 22 points and freshman Sarah Dreher had a career-high 15 points in the winning effort.
Moore leads three Broncos in double-figures with a nation's best 27.9 ppg. Lindsey Brown in second with 13.5 ppg and tops in rebounding(8.7 rpg) and Tiera Delahoussaye is third, averaging 12.4 ppg. Delahoussaye is tops in assists with 64.
Player of the Week
Kamesha Hairston earned her third straight Atlantic 10 and second Big Five Player of the Week honor. She notched her fourth double-double in five games in Sunday's win over Miami (Ohio). The senior led the Owls with 23 points, 21 of which came in the first half, and 13 rebounds, 10 of which came in the first stanza. One vs. Four
Tonight's game features the #1 scorer in the nation and the fourth leading scorer. Kamesha Hairston is currently tied for fourth in the nation in scoring, averaging 22.3 ppg, while WMU's Carrie Moore is posting a country-leading 27.9 ppg. Lady Comfort has also entered the national rankings, placing 23rd in FG% (57.7%). Temple is t-34th in turnovers.
