Men's Indoor Track Opens Season at Jack Pyrah Invitational

HAVERFORD, PA - Sophomore Joshua Louis and freshman Tim Boeni each captured a first and a second place finish, respectively, as the Temple men's track and field team opened the indoor season at the Jack Pyrah Invitational at Haverford College. Louis won the high jump (6-4) and was second in the 55m hurdles (7.84), while Boeni won the long jump (22-3 1/2) and was second in the 300m (36.30).
Freshman Chris Banks finished fourth in the 500m (1:10.34) and junior Marcos Edghill was fourth in the 55m hurdles (7.91). Temple posted a 1-2-3 finish in the high jump, with Louis, freshman Ryan Randall (6-2) and classmate Kyle Hitchcock (6-0) all clearing six feet.
Freshman Mitchell Moodie was second in the triple jump (42-0 3/4) and sophomore Bryce Buffaloe was second in the weight throw (48-2 3/4).
The event is named for long-time Villanova track & field coach Jack Pyrah, who is being inducted to the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame this month. The Wildcats hosted the meet, despite it being held at Haverford.
Temple is back in action on Friday at the Princeton Invitational.
