Hairston Selected Atlantic 10 and Big Five Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA- After averaging a double-double of 26.5 points and 14.0 rebounds against two ACC opponents last week, senior captain Kamesha Hairston (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) has been voted both the Atlantic 10 and Big Five Player of the Week. This is the first honor of the year for Hairston.
At Virginia, Hairston exploded for 30 points, including 22 in the first half, and added 12 rebounds and a game-high four steals. In the Owls' narrow 59-57 loss at NC State, the senior had a double-double in the first half (15 points, 10 rebounds) on her way to 23 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
Hairston leads both Temple and the Atlantic 10 in scoring, averaging 21.8 ppg. She is first on the squad and third in the Conference in rebounding, with 9.2 rpg.
