BUFFALOE BETTERS SCHOOL RECORD AS MEN'S TRACK PLACES EIGHTH AT A-10S

KINGSTON, RI - Freshman Bryce Buffaloe bettered his own school record and finished third in the weight throw as the men's indoor track team placed eighth at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday. The rookie posted a throw of 52-7 1/2 in the weight and added a shot of 45-11 3/4 to finish seventh in that event.
Freshman Jason Sullivan finished fourth in the 500m (1:07.30) and classmate Mitch Stroh was fifth in the 1000m with a season-best time of 2:34.10. The 4x400 relay of freshman Darnell Bowsher, Sullivan, sophomore David Holliday-Isom and Stroh placed seventh in 3:29.00.
Senior Steven Johnson placed sixth in the long jump (22-1 1/2) while freshman David Humenansky set a new season-best in the triple (43-5 3/4) to finish eighth.
Charlotte, which also won the women's championship, captured the men's title with 180 points. Host Rhode Island was second (146), followed by La Salle (111), Saint Joseph's (87), Massachusetts (83), Fordham (64), Richmond (36), Temple (24) and Xavier (7).
The Owls return to the track on Friday at the Last Chance Meet at the New York City Armory.
