DUPREE EARNS FINAL A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

PHILADELPHIA- Senior All-America candidate Candice Dupree averaged 22.7 ppg and 10.7 rpg to lead Temple to a 2-1 week and earn her fourth A-10 Player of the Week Award. Dupree shares the honor with Rhode Island's Tanya Rhodes.
Dupree earned double-doubles against GW (2/24) and URI (2/26), including a double-double in the first half against URI. In a win over Dayton (2/19) she netted 24 points, including 16 in the first half, and added eight rebounds, two blocks, two steals and two assists. She also posted 14 points in a span of six minutes. Against GW, Dupree had a double-double of 17 points and 10 boards. In Sunday's win over URI, she had 27 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals in just 28 minutes of play and earned a double-double of 16 points and 11 boards in the first half alone.
Dupree is leading #17 Temple in points and rebounds, averaging 17.0 ppg and 8.7 rpg.
The 21-7 Owls enter the 2005-06 A-10 Tournament as the #3 seed, taking on the winner of the Rhode Island/Dayton game on Saturday at 6 p.m.
