DUPREE NAMED TO MIDSEASON WOODEN AWARD LIST

PHILADELPHIA- Temple University senior and All-America candidate Candice Dupree has been selected to the 20-player Midseason John R. Wooden Award List as announced on February 2 by the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Comprised of the top 20 players who are expected to contend for this year's Player of the Year Award, the Midseason list is based on individual player performance and team records through the first half of the season. Dupree was named to the 30-player preseason list in August.
Dupree is leading 20th-ranked Temple (15-5, 6-2 A-10) in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals, averaging 16.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 2.1 bpg and 2.0 spg.
The official voting ballot will be released in March, consisting of approximately 15 top players who have also maintained a 2.0 GPA. The 2006 Award ceremony will be held at the Los Angeles Athletic Club on April 8, 2006 and will be broadcast live on a national CBS telecast. The top five male and female finalists will be invited to Los Angeles for the Awards ceremony and will receive a contribution from the John R. Wooden Award Scholarship Fund in their name to their university's general scholarship fund.
