MEN'S INDOOR TRACK COMPETES AT COLLEGIATE AND DESCHRIVER INVITATIONALS

NEW YORK, NY - The Temple men's indoor track and field team took on some of the nation's top competitors this weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, held at the New York Armory. The event served as the final tune-up for the Atlantic 10 Championships, held February 18 at Rhode Island. The 4x400 relay turned in the best showing for the Owls, knocking eight seconds off its previous best time to finish 23rd in 3:24.83.
In the long jump, senior Steven Johnson finished 21st (6.66m) and was also 76th in the 60m (7.23). Freshmen Jason Sullivan (1:07.66) and Darnell Bowsher (1:08.73) were 24th and 28th, respectively, in the 500m.
Senior Matt Kobialka placed 71st in the 800m (2:00.39) and sophomore Marcos Edghill finished 68th in the 60m (7.14) to round out the Temple competitors.
At the East Stroudsburg Deschriver Invitational, freshman Themba Ntini won the triple jump (43-1 3/4) and was second in the long jump (21-2 1/4). Senior Dave D'Addario placed fifth in the mile (4:30.34) as well.
