LEWISBURG, PA -- Six Bucknell pitchers silenced the Temple offense, limiting the visitors to just four hits in a 6-1 Bison win on Wednesday afternoon at Depew Field. The Owls managed just one hit over the first seven innings and fall for the ninth straight game. Sophomore Devon Swope singled and scored for the Cherry and White.

Temple recorded just one hit, a freshman John Coyle single, over the first seven innings. Trailing 6-0 heading into the ninth, the Owls tried to put a rally together in their final at bat. Swope singled to lead off the inning, pinch-hitter Tom Dolan walked and freshman Lenny DelGrippo reached on an error to load the bases with no outs.

After a strikeout, a sophomore Frank Nunan walked to drive in Swope, but Bucknell (17-19) reliever Jason Buursma recorded the final two outs for his fifth save of the season. Andy Campbell pitched four scoreless innings to improve to 3-1.

For Temple, sophomore Eric Fritz (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing an earned run in two innings. Sophomore DaShone Kirkendoll and senior Tim Andrel pitched the final 2.2 innings without allowing a run.

The Owls (7-28) host George Washington in a three-game Atlantic 10 series beginning on Friday. Game time is 3:30 p.m. with live statistics available on GameTracker via owlsports.com
