FRIES, JOHNSON LEAD OWLS AT DUKE INVITATIONAL

DURHAM, NC - Sophomore Andrew Fries continued to approach IC4A qualifying standards and senior Steven Johnson had two strong performances in different events as the Temple men's track and field team sent competitors to the Duke and Delaware Invitationals this weekend. Fries finished eighth in the javelin with a season-best throw of 185-9 at Duke, while Johnson was 15th and 16th in the 200m (26.64) and long jump (22-11).

Senior Matt Kobialka ran a season-best time in the 800 (1:57.42) and was followed by three teammates: Jason Sullivan (1:57.50), Anthony DeJesus (1:57.80) and Mitch Stroh (1:57.93).

At Delaware, freshman Bryce Buffaloe competed in all the throwing events for Temple. He set a new season-best in the hammer throw (129-0).

The Owls are off next weekend before traveling to Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational.
