KOBIALKA NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-ATLANTIC 10 TRACK TEAM

PHILADELPHIA -- Senior Matt Kobialka has been named to the Academic All-Atlantic 10 Men's Track and Field team, in voting conducted by the league's sports information directors. A middle distance runner who finished ninth in the 800m at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, Kobialka is also a member of the President's Honor Roll at Temple.
He was a member of the IC4A-qualifying 4x800 relay that ran a season-best time of 7:41.25 at A-10s. Individually, Kobialka also finished 12th in the 800m at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in February and was 120th at the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships in November.
A native of Cunyngham, Pa., Kobialka is a history major with a 3.73 grade point average.
Duquesne's Bob Healy was named the Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year in men's track field after winning three medals at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship, taking gold in the discus (48.96 meters), silver in the shot put (14.37 meters), and bronze in the hammer throw (45.59 meters).
Along with Healy and Kobialka, the men's track field Academic All-Conference team consists of teammate Kevin Borrelli; Mike Bernardo of Rhode Island; Matthew Clark and Jon Korhonen of Massachusetts; Teddy Meyers, Matt Petrocci, and Andrew Thomas of Saint Joseph's; Jonathan Molz of Richmond; and La Salle's Ryan Moseley.
