PHILADELPHIA -- Junior 3B Dan Brady has been named to the All-Atlantic 10 baseball team in voting conducted by the conference head coaches, the league announced on Tuesday. Freshman OF Jamie Abercrombie was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team. Brady is the first all-conference selection since Al Roach was named to the first team in 2004.

Brady batted .310 with seven homeruns and 35 RBI, all team-highs, in earning all-conference honors for the first time in his career. He also led the Owls in runs (33), hits (57) and slugging percentage (.522) and added 16 doubles. The junior performed even better in conference games, batting .348 with 10 doubles, three homeruns and 20 RBI.

A native of Havertown, Pa., Brady is the first Temple 3B to receive All-Atlantic 10 honors since Kyle Sweppenhiser was named to the first team in 2001.

Abercrombie patrolled centerfield and batted lead-off in his first season for the Cherry and White. He batted .288 with four doubles, a triple and a homerun. Abercrombie led the team with nine stolen bases and was second on the team in hits (55).

St. Bonaventure junior first baseman Brian Pellegrini was named the 2006 Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year and Steve Holmes, a righthander from Rhode Island, earned Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Year honors in voting conducted among the league's head coaches. In that same vote, freshman third baseman Aaron Bray of Charlotte was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year while St. Bonaventure's Larry Sudbrook was tabbed the Coach of the Year.
