VOLLEYBALL PICKED TO FINISH FIRST IN THE EAST IN A-10 COACHES POLL

8.21.06 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple volleyball team was picked to finish first in the Atlantic 10's East Division, as determined by a vote of the Conferences' head coaches.

The Owls (11-2/23-13) advanced to their eighth Conference championship match in 2005, but fell short of the win. They will be led by junior Yue Liu and sophomore Patricia Vernon. Liu received first team All-Conference honors last season, while Vernon earned a spot on the A-10's All-Rookie team and second team.

The 2006 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship has expanded to six teams this year and will be played over three days, Nov. 17-19, at the Frericks Center on the campus of the University of Dayton.
