TEMPLE STARTS THE MORNING RIGHT GOING 3-0

PHILADELPHIA - Temple started out the morning with a 3-0 victory over the Iona Gales. Patricia Vernon led the match with 13 kills and only two errors. The Owls won the games with the final scores 30-22, 30-15,30-23.

The Owls came out to a slow start on the defensive end in game one but with strong hitting by both Chistina DeMarco and Jess Waybrant, five kills each in the first game, it kept Temple in the match. The Owls went on to win, 30-22.  

Game two was Patrica Vernon's time to shine. She emerged vocally calling for the ball and wanting to be involved in the play. Vernon got game two off to a good start with three kills and one block kill.. She ending the match with a team-high 13 kills and six blocks. Temple wrapped up that game with an easy 30-15 win.

The third game was a bit tougher for the Owls. It started as a back and forth contest, but Temple went ahead with the help of a few key kills by Ying Sun Ling (seven kills). Temple also continued to look strong at the net with their front lines setting solid blocks to help the defense. After a slow start to game three, Temple emerged with a 30-23 win.
