MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY POSTS BEST FINISH SINCE RESUMING SPORT

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Freshman Dan Rinehart finished sixth overall in his first collegiate race as Temple opened its season with a second place finish at the Monmouth Cross Country Kickoff at Thompson Park. Rinehart traversed the 6k-course in 20:01.3 to lead the Owls to their best team showing since resuming the sport for the first time since 1985 last fall.

Sophomore Adin Mickle, last year's team MVP, was 11th overall (20:16.4). He was followed by senior Dave D'Addario (14th, 20:22.8), freshman Travis Gerhardt (19th, 20:33.0), and sophomore Adam Moffit (20th, 20:52.6).

Albany won the event with 29 points. TU was in second with 70 points, followed by host Monmouth (71), Wagner (99), Long Island (134) and Drew (235).

Temple returns to the hill and dale next Saturday, September 9, at the Fordham Invitational at the Bronx's Van Cortlandt Park.
