Men's Cross Country Runs With Region's Best at Paul Short

BETHLEHEM, PA - The Temple men's cross country raced against some of the region's top teams on Friday afternoon at the 33rd annual Brooks Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh. The Owls finished 39th in the 42-team field and were led by freshman Dan Rinehart, who covered the 8k course in a time of 26:31 to finish 164th out of 278 runners. Villanova won the team event with 102 points.
Sophomore Adin Mickle was TU's second finisher (26:40, 184th). He was followed by senior Dave D'Addario (27:02, 213th), sophomore Jim Waddington (27:35, 240th), freshman Travis Gerhardt (27:46, 245th) and freshman Kyle Fekete (28:37, 268th).
Villanova senior Robert Curtis won the individual title in a time of 23:53. The Wildcats defeated Pittsburgh (166) and Columbia (188) for the team championship.
The Cherry and White will take next weekend off before returning to action on Saturday, October 14 at the Delaware Invitational. It will be the final tuneup before the Atlantic 10 Championship, held on October 28 in Pittsburgh, PA.
