NEW YORK, NY - Sophomore Adin Mickle bettered his own school record in the 3,000m, set in his last meet, as the Temple men's indoor track team opened the new year at the Gotham Cup at the Armory on Friday. Mickle placed 24th in the event in a time of 9:10.34. Sophomore Joshua Louis had another productive performance, finishing fifth in the high jump (6-7), 15th in the 60m hurdles (8.50), and posted a season-high in the 400m (52.55).

Sophomore Bryce Buffaloe finished sixth in the weight throw (52-9 1/2) and 21st in the shot put (45-0 1/4). Freshman Matt Mello was 29th in the 800m (2:01.98) while classmate Travis Gerhardt was 36th in the mile (4:33.41). Both were season-best times.

At the Penn State Relays, junior Marcos Edghill approched IC4A qualifying standards by finishing sixth in the 55m hurdles (7.76). He was also 17th in the 55m (6.68). Freshman Rob McGriff was 10th in the 55m (6.64).

In the relays, Temple was ninth in the 4x200, seventh in the 4x400, and fifth in the 4x800.

The Owls will return to the Armory next weekend at the Great Dane Classic and will also send athletes to the PSU Open.
