PHILADELPHIA - The annual Temple fencing alumnae meet was held Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Pearson Hall. As former athletes from years past participated, the current Owls downed the alums, 14-2.
Following the event, current members of the team were given the opportunity to meet and become acquainted with former competitors during a reception.
"A great time was had by all," said Owls' fencing head coach Nikki Franke. "It was a good start for the team as we prepare for our dual meet season."
As part of the men's basketball game against Big 5-rival Saint Joseph's on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m., the fencing team will be holding another alumnae event.
Following more than a month-long lay-off, the Cherry and White return to the strips Saturday afternoon in Columbus, Ohio for the USFA North American Cup. Start time for the event has yet to be determined.
