AMBLER, PA - The Temple baseball team will conclude its non-traditional fall season with the Cherry and White Fall Classic beginning on Friday, October 19. The Owls will be divided into a Cherry team and a White team and play a best of seven series consisting of three-inning games. Games one through three will be played on Friday beginning at 3:15 p.m. while games four through seven are on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The series will be played at Skip Wilson Field in Ambler, PA.
"Our players have worked hard and competed so well all fall," head coach Rob Valli said. "This series should be a great way to finish the fall season. For the first time in two years we have competition at every position and our staff is still trying to find our best lineup."
Senior Arshwin Asjes and sophomore Marc Tankel will manage the Cherry team, while senior Tom Dolan and junior John Coyle will manage the White team. Projected starting lineups and pitching rotations are at the bottom of this release.
Academic coordinator Nick Plack will throw out the honorary first pitch on Friday and Harrison Gargel, the brother of former Owl Richie Gargel, who tragically passed away this summer in a swimming accident, will throw out the first pitch on Saturday.
Following Saturday's games, there will be a barbeque for players and their families. All are welcome to attend.
