Kingston, R.I.- The Temple women's volleyball team won its third straight match, shutting out the Rhode Island Rams, 3-0 on Saturday night. The Owls improve to 10-16 overall, 5-4 in the A-10, while URI falls to 11-12, 3-5 in Conference play.
Temple used a 36% hitting percentage to the Rams' .223 to win the games 30-26, 30-27 and 30-20. Yun Yi Zhang had 15 kills, while Patricia Vernon and Yue Liu posted 11 kills, respectively. Jackie Morrison and Ariel Pierre were both strong in the setting position, with Morrison dishing 31 assists and Pierre contributing 10.
TU returns home to take on Charlotte on Friday night at 7 p.m.
