Men's Cross Country Runs At Mid-Atlantic Regional

BETHLEHEM, PA - Junior Adin Mickle finished 107th to lead Temple to a 25th place showing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday at Lehigh University. Mickle covered the 10k course in a time of 32:37. The race marked the first time that the Owls ran in the regional championship after reviving the sport in 2005.
Freshman Eric Conklin finished second for Temple and 138th overall (33:23). Freshmen Charles Goold (148th, 33:37), Mike May (151st, 33:45) and Clarke Hunt (156th, 33:58) rounded out the TU top five.
Once again, six of Temple's top seven runners were in their first year of eligibilty. Mickle has been the only upperclassman to consistantly score for Temple this season.
Georgetown had two of the top three runners to win the team title with 42 points. Villanova (70) edged Princeton (74) for second place. Other Atlantic 10 showings included La Salle (fifth), Duquesne (sixth), Saint Joseph's (T-12th), and George Washington (21st).
Villanova's Bobby Curtis, who won the Big East individual title two weeks ago, also captured the regional title by finishing in a time of 30:08.
Temple will finish its season on Saturday at the IC4A Championship at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.
