Double Doubles By Liu and Morrison Not Enough To Overcome UC Santa Barbara

Long Beach, Calif.- Senior outside hitter Yue Liu and sophomore setter Jackie Morrison both posted double-doubles but it was not enough as the Temple women's volleyball team dropped its second straight match, a 3-1 decision to UC Santa Barbara. Liu had 10 kills and 18 digs, while Morrison dished 54 assists and 11 digs. Temple drops to 15-20 on the season, while UCSB improves to 12-18 overall.

Temple came out strong, taking game one, 30-25, but faded fast, dropping games two (30-24), three (30-26) and four (30-22). Competition in game three was tough, as it featured 14 ties and six lead changes.

Yun Yi Zhang had 21 kills, while Patricia Vernon had a standout day with 20 kills and just three errors for a .486 hitting percentage. Sun Ying Ling earned 17 digs.

Temple continues its play in the Baden Thanksgiving Classic tomorrow when it faces UC Irvine at 6 p.m.
