PHILADELPHIA- Sophomore Yun Yi Zhang earned a 57% hitting percentage, 23 kills and just three errors, to lead the Temple Owls to a 3-0 victory over La Salle on Thursday night. Zhang added eight digs and three blocks to help Temple improve to 13-17 overall, 8-4 in the A-10. The Explorers fall to 10-22, 1-11 in Conference play.

The Cherry and White used a .434 hitting percentage to La Salle's .107 to complete a season sweep of the Explorers. La Salle put up a bit of a fight in game one, taking an early lead, but eventually fell, 30-27. The Owls dominated games one and two, winning handily, 30-16 and 30-19, respectively.

Patricia Vernon also had a breakout day with 13 kills, just two errors, and seven digs. Jacqueline Cowden contributed a solid 10 kill, four block performance. Sun Ying Ling had 15 digs and needs just two more to become Temple's all-time career dig leader. Jackie Morrison and Ariel Pierre combined to dish 51 assists, with Morrison garnering 38 and Pierre earning 13.

Temple returns home to host Fordham on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its regular season finale.
