PRINCETON, NJ - Junior Adin Mickle was one of three Owls to break the school record in the 3000m as the Temple men's indoor track team opened its season at the Jack Pyrah and Princeton Invitationals this weekend. Mickle was fourth in the event and broke his own school record with a time of 8:59.26.
Two other freshmen, Charles Goold (6th, 9:00.30) and Mike May (7th, 9:03.70) also would have broken Mickle's previous school record.
Junior Jason Sullivan won the 1000m (2:32.26), while sophomore Josue Louis was third in the high jump (6-7). Sophomore David Stonfer also approached IC4A qualifying by finishing fifth in the 500m (1:06.20).
At the Jack Pyrah Invitational, senior Marcos Edghill was busy in the short sprints and hurdles. He won the 55m (6.51), was third in the 55m hurdles (7.84) and fourth in the 300m (36.16).
Sophomore Tim Boeni won the high jump (6-4) and the long jump (22-5 3/4). Senior Marquise Stancil was third in the 500m (1:06.37) and freshman Miles Dryden was also third in the long jump (22-2 1/2).
The Owls are back in action after the semester break on January 12 at the Penn State Relays.
