Dolan Named Big 5 Baseball Pitcher of the Week And On CBF National Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Tom Dolan has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Pitcher of the Week in voting conducted by the five area head coaches. The southpaw did not allow a run in nine innings last week and improved to 2-1 on the season. He was also named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll on Tuesday.
Dolan pitched nine scoreless innings last week and lowered his team-best ERA to 2.25 with a 9-0 victory over Buffalo on Sunday. He scattered seven hits against the Bulls in eight shutout innings to pick up the win and also threw a scoreless inning of relief against #1 North Carolina on Wednesday. The junior has not allowed a run in his past 11 innings of work. It is his second Philadelphia Big 5 honor of the season.
Penn's Tim May (.632, eight RBI) was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball Player of the Week.
Formed with the mission of increasing the exposure of college baseball in the area, Philadelphia Big 5 Baseball is comprised of the five Division I universities in Philadelphia that sponsor baseball. The Big 5 will announce a Player and Pitcher of the Week every Monday during the season. The second annual All-Big 5 baseball team will be announced at the conclusion of the season.
