Incoming Volleyball Freshman Ashman Garners High School Athlete Of The Year Award

PHILADELPHIA- Incoming Temple volleyball freshman Cayleigh Ashman was given the High School Athlete of the Year Award as part of the Philadelphia awards program for the National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Head Coach Bob Bertucci, Graduate Assisant Katherine Hopkins and Associate Athletic Director Kristen Foley were on hand to celebrate the event.
Ashman, a four-year letter winner at Bishop Shanahan, is coming off a senior season in which she was named Chest-Mont League MVP, All Area Co-MVP and team Co-MVP for Bishop Shanahan. She was also named to the All-Tournament Teams for `Rally in the Valley' and the PIAA State Finals.
The Owls finished the 2006 season with an overall record of 16-13 and advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
