Heltz Named Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Temple freshman Matt Heltz has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Heltz batted .500 in four games last week and helped the Owls to their first A-10 series victory this weekend. It is Heltz's first career honor.
The Garyville, LA native batted 6-for-12 and scored four runs for Temple this week. He also drove in two runs. The second baseman collected two hits in each game at Dayton and reached base in five straight plate appearances at one point during the series.
Heltz is batting .245 with three doubles, a homerun and five RBI this season.
The Owls host Villanova on Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
