Men's Varsity 4 With Coxswain Advances To IRA Grand Final

CAMDEN, NJ - The Temple Men's Crew had another good day at the IRA Regatta held on the Cooper River. The varsity four with coxswain easily won their semifinal heat to advance to Saturday's grand final. They join the varsity pair of James Harding and Peter Gostling who advanced to the grand final on Thursday.
The varisty four with coxswain, comprised of junior stroke Thomas Haubrich, junior Robert Protesto (3-seat), senior Dante Cammarata (2-seat), junior Nicholas Vlahos (bow) and junior Rory Roberts (coxswain) bested UCLA,Gonzaga, Colgate, Oregon State, and MIT. They compete Saturday at 10:24 a.m. against the winner of the other semifinal, which California. Also in the final is UCLA, Gonzaga,Hobart and Brown. Temple waas timed in 6:19 with Cal winning its heat in a tim eof 6:17.
The varsity pair rows in the grand final at 9:12 a.m. against Wisconsin, Yale, Cornell and Columbia.
Also Saturday at 8:24 the Temple Freshman 4 competes in the petite final (places 7-12) while the men's varsity four without coxswain competes in the third level final.
