Charlottesville- The Temple volleyball team (3-3) opened up the Virginia Invitational with a dominating 3-0 win over Norfolk State (0-5) on Friday afternoon. Yun Yi Zhang had a match-high 13 kills with just two errors in the victory, while freshman setter Caitlin Loudon dished a match-high 27 assists.
The Owls controlled games one and two, posting 30-13 and 30-10 victories. Norfolk put up a slight fight in the third set, but fell 30-20. Sun Ying Ling had a match-high seven digs and Cayleigh Ashman blocked a career high four opponent attacks.
Temple returns to action tomorrow against Arkansas at 11 a.m. and host Virginia at 7 p.m.
