NEW YORK, NY - Three Owls met IC4A standards on Friday as the Temple men's track team competed at the Gotham Cup at the New York City Armory on Friday. Sophomore Tim Boeni was second in the long jump, and tops among collegiate entries, in an IC4A-qualifying mark of 23-6 3/4. Senior Marquise Stancil (1:04.16, 5th) and sophomore David Stonfer (1:04.71, 8th) also met the qualifying standards in the 500m.

Sophomore Josue Louis was third in the high jump (6-7) and sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.42). Freshman Mike May won the unseeded 5000m in a season-best time of 15:38.26. Another freshman, Josh Shumberger, was eighth in the unseeded 800m (1:58.45).

In the field events, freshman Maxim Chichkin was ninth in the pole vault, tying a season-best by clearing 13-9 1/4. Junior Bryce Buffaloe was seventh in the weight throw (52-6).

The Owls are back in action on Friday when they return to the Armory for the Great Dane Classic. Sophomore Alex Schiavi will head to the Bucknell Open to compete in the heptathlon.
