Volleyball Dominates La Salle, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA-Patricia Vernon had 13 kills and no errors to lead Temple volleyball to a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) over La Salle on Thursday night. The Owls posted a .374 hitting percentage to La Salle's .017 to earn their third straight win. Ashley Carr also posted a perfect offensive performance, with 11 kills and no errors for a .458 hitting percentage.
Jackie Morrison dished 33 assists and had 12 digs. Caitlin Loudon had a team-high 15 digs, while Arile Pierre chipped in with 13 digs. Jacqueline Cowden had six blocks.
Temple took a 25-15 victory in set one, behind a six kill effort from Vernon. La Salle was unable to get its offense going, hitting just .023 for the set.
Vernon had a repeat performance in set two but got help on the defensive end from Loudon and Pierre, who combined for 20 digs, allowing for a 25-14 win.
The Explorers showed a little life in the third set, tying the game twice but fell short, falling 25-18.
Temple returns to action on Saturday night at Fordham at 5 p.m.
