PHILADELPHIA (AP)-- Epiphanny Prince scored 25 points and Kia Vaughn had 10 points and eight rebounds to help Rutgers (No. 11 ESPN/USA Today, No. 15 AP) snap a two-game losing streak by rallying past Temple 64-60 on Monday night.
Prince scored 19 points in the second half and Rutgers (3-2) avoided its longest skid in five years. The Scarlet Knights had lost consecutive games to No. 3 California and Stanford (No. 6 ESPN/USA Today, No. 4 AP) and appeared in danger of making it three straight when they trailed by 15 late in the first half.
Rutgers went on a 12-2 run to slice the deficit to single digits and took its first lead of the game, 43-42, at the halfway mark of the second.
Lindsay Kimmel hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute for the Owls (3-2) that made it a two-point game. Rutgers sealed the win at the free-throw line.
Shanea Cotton led the Owls with 18 points and Shenita Landry had 12 points and nine rebounds.
