Zhang Named To AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention Team

PHILADELPHIA- Junior outside hitter Yun Yi Zhang was named to the 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All Region Honorable Mention team, as announced today by the AVCA. Zhang was also named First Team All-Atlantic 10 this season.
Zhang has been a dominating force in the A-10 since she stepped on campus last year. A 2007 All-Conference honoree, Zhang led the team and A-10 in kills (533) and points (5.25 ppg). She is also third in blocks with 76. Twice voted A-10 Player of the Week, Zhang has posted eight double-doubles (kills and digs) and has reached double figures in kills in all but two matches. Zhang had a season high 26 kills against Xavier (10/11) and George Washington (11/16) and reached her season-high 21 digs against the Colonials on October 17.
