New Orleans, La.- Temple women's basketball (6-4) continues it road trip on Sunday night, traveling to New Orleans to take on the Tulane Green Wave (8-3) at 5 p.m. EST. This is the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Scouting the Owls
Down by two points at the break, Temple used a 28-point swing in the final 12 minutes of the game to earn a hard fought 78-73 victory over Ball State on Monday night in Muncie, Indiana. Freshman Kristen McCarthy netted 11 of her career-high 15 points during that stretch to allow Temple to improve to 11-2 against Mid-American Conference teams. Shenita Landry led the Owls with 16 points before fouling out in the final minute of action, while Shanea Cotton had 12 points and a team-high seven boards. Shaqwedia Wallace posted 10 points and six boards.

Wallace leads four Owls in double figures with 12.9 ppg, while Cotton is second with 12.5 ppg. Landry is third with 12.0 ppg and a team-high 8.8 rpg. Eaddy is fourth with 10.6 ppg and a squad-high 44 assists.

Scouting the Green Wave
Tulane used a 14-0 run to seize control of the game, and cruised to a 68-46 win over Providence to take the championship of the Tulane DoubleTree Classic for the 10th time in 13 seasons Sunday. Brett Benzio recorded her second double-double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds to be named tournament MVP. Joining Benzio on the all-tournament team were senior point guard Ashley Langford and senior guard Megan Valicevic. Langford, who handed out nine assists on Saturday, added five assists and 10 points on Saturday, while Valicevic chipped in nine points and seven rebounds after an 11-point outing on Saturday. She also added six assists in the tournament.

Brittany Lindsey leads two players in double figures with 13.3 ppg, while Valicevic is second with 10.1 ppg. Benzio is tops in rebounding, averaging 9.9 rpg and Langford is averaging 5.1 assists per game.

Diaper Dandy
Kristen McCarthy has had quite an impressive debut in her first nine collegiate games. At Auburn (11/17), she scored eight points and had five rebounds in 13 minutes, while at Illinois (11/23), she had three steals, four points, two assists and two boards. Against #15 Rutgers (12/1), McCarthy impressed with six points, five boards and a game-high four steals. Against Florida State (12/7), she saw double figures for the first time, scoring 14 points and adding four rebounds and followed that up with 12 points vs. Toledo (12/10). At Ball State (12/22), McCarthy scored 11 of her career-high 15 points in the second half to allow the Owls to walk away with the victory.

Among the Nation's Leaders
As of 12/21, Temple is ranked in the Top 50 in the nation in three statistical categories. The Owls are 13th in field goal percentage defense (33.6), tied for 50th in assists per game (15.4) and 50th in rebound margin (5.8). Individually, Shaqwedia Wallace is first in three-point field goal percentage (51.7%) and Shanea Cotton is 12th in field goal percentage (60.8%).
