Baseball To Play Doubleheader With Wagner On Friday

PHILADELPHIA - With the threat of rain showers on Saturday, Temple and Wagner have agreed to play a doubleheader on Friday, March 7 beginning at 11 AM. Both games will be nine inning contests and can be followed online via GameTracker.
Temple will send senior LHP Tom Dolan (0-2, 6.75 ERA) to the mound against Wagner's Joe Testa (0-1, 3.00) in game one. The Owls will follow with junior RHP Matt Mongiardini (1-0, 2.08 ERA) against the Seahawks' sophomore RHP Kyle Morrison (0-0, 23.62).
Wagner is 1-3 after taking one game in a four-game season opening series at Florida International last weekend. The Seahawks were 17-34 last season, including 11-17 in the Northeast Conference.
Friday's home opener marks the earliest season opener in program history. Last season the Owls hosted Buffalo on March 11, setting the earliest home date ever. TU is 39-8 in home openers since 1960. Head Coach Rob Valli is 1-1 in his two home openers.
