Three IC4A Qualifiers Headline Men's Track Performance At Penn

PHILADELPHIA - Three IC4A qualifiers headlined a fine day for the men's track team at the Penn Invitational on Saturday at Franklin Field. Sophomore Tim Boeni won the long jump with a IC4A qualifying distance of 23-3 1/2 and classmate Brad McFadden was third in the 400m hurdles with an IC4A-time of 53.66. The 4x100 relay also met qualifying standards, finishing fourth in 42.04.
Senior Marcos Edghill was third in the 100m (11.04) and 14th in the 200m (22.48) to lead the short sprinters. In the 400m, sophomore David Stonfer turned in a season-best time of 49.60 to finish 13th.
In the field events, freshman Brian Smith cleared 13-11 1/4 to finish 11th in the pole vault. Freshman Miles Dryden was fourth in the long jump (22-9 3/4), while sophomore Grant West was third in the hammer throw (167-3). Freshman Bob Keough had a season-best throw of 155-6 to place sixth in the event.
Sophomore Eric Pellini was eighth in the javelin (176-4), while freshman Matt Kliwinski was 12th (167-1).
Temple is back in action next weekend at the Lou Onesty Invitational at the University of Virginia.
