AMHERST, MA - The Temple men's track team stands in eighth place after one day at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships, hosted by the University of Massacshuetts. Sophomore Tim Boeni had the best point total for the Owls, finishing fifth in the long jump (22-5) and sixth in the high jump (6-2 1/4). Sophomore Grant West finished third in the hammer throw (177-10).

Sophomore Alex Schiavi is third in the decathlon (3136 points) and freshman Ryan Berger added a seventh place in the event (2728).

Freshman Bob Keogh was ninth in the hammer throw (147-9) and 11th in the discus (120-7). Senior Marcos Edghill finished tenth in the 100m (11.44). The 4x800 relay was ninth in 7:49.37.

Vying for its seventh men's title in eight years, defending champion Rhode Island leads with 75 points after seven events. Charlotte is second with 51 points, followed by Duquesne (36), Massachusetts (25) and La Salle (25), Fordham (17), Temple (14), Richmond (14), Saint Joseph's (nine) and Xavier (four).

Action commences at 8:45am on Sunday with the 110m hurdles in the men's decathlon, followed by the women's javelin at 9:00am.
