Jason Read, former oarsmen for the Temple crew team (1997-2000) and gold medalist in 2004, is blogging about his experiences from the Beijing Games for the Wall Street Journal. A member of the American men's elite eight crew that ended a four-decade drought in rowing gold medals in Athens, Read is an alternate for this year's US Rowing team in Beijing. He and fellow team alternate Chris Liwski can both be found blogging about their experiences from Beijing for the Wall Street Journal.
