May Finishes Third as Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Mt. Saint Mary's

EMMITSBURG, MD - Sophomore Michael May finished 3rd out of 62 runners to lead the Temple men's cross country team to a 2-3 finish at the season opening Mt. Saint Mary's 5K Duals. May finished the 5k course in a time of 16:13.66, falling just short of the Maryland's Alex Lundy, the first place finisher.
Sophomore Eric Conklin (23rd, 17:08.41) finished with the second best time for the Cherry and White, followed closely by the impressive debut of freshman Geoffrey Barletta (25th, 17:14.18). Freshmen Thomas Thomas, sophomore Adam Staricha and sophomore Clarke Hunt finished 27th, 28th and 29th respectively.
As a team, the Owls topped Mt. Saint Mary's (27-30) and George Washington (17-46), but fell to American (44-19) , UMCB (39-20) and Maryland (32-24).
The Owls return to action on Saturday at the Monmouth Invitational at the Monmouth Cross Country Kickoff from Lincroft, NJ.
