NEW YORK - Sophomore Joshua Louis finished in second place in both the men's 60 meter hurdles and men's high jump to lead the Temple Men's Indoor Track & Field Team at the Metropolitan Coaches Invitational from the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City on Friday.
Louis ran the hurdles in a time of 8.13 and recorded a jump of 6-06 14 to walk away as the Owls' top individual performer on the day. His time of 8.13 in the 60 meter hurdles was good enough to meet IC4H qualifying standards.
Senior Michael Davis was the other top performer for the Cherry and White. He took home first place in the men's pole vault with a vault of 14-11, which was good enough for a new school record, besting the previous mark of 14-5.
Several other Owls performed well in the team's first meet of the new semester following the long winter break. Sophomore Tim Boeni took home second place in the men's long jump with a jump of 22-09, while sophomore Miles Dryden finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.12.
The Owls return to the Armory next Friday, January 16, for the Gotham Cup.
