Righty cranks three homers in championship round to take title

Ambler, PA – In the midst of their Cherry & White Fall Classic Week, the Temple baseball pitchers tested their power at the plate in the Pitcher's Home Run Derby, Wednesday afternoon at Skip Wilson Field. Redshirt-freshman Steve Visnic came out on top, ripping a total of seven home runs, including three in the championship round, to take the 2009 Derby title.

Four homers in the opening round earned Visnic a spot in the finals, along with senior Mick Click, who jacked three long balls in his first attempts. Click posted one in the final round, while Visnic lifted three over the fence to snag the season-long bragging rights.

The Owls wrap up their week with the Cherry and White Fall Classic, holding games on Friday, October 23 (3:15 p.m.) and Saturday, October 24 (9:40 p.m.) at Skip Wilson Field.
