Men's Golf Places 12th At MacDonald Cup

Plisko again leads Owls with four-over total
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior Eric Plisko finished the three-round MacDonald Cup with a four-over par 214 to tie for 14th overall in leading the Temple men's golf team to a 12th place finish Sunday. The tournament was played on the world famous Yale golf course. The course was designed by Charles Blair MacDonald, the renowned golf course architect, champion golfer and co-founder of the USGA.
Plisko, who has led the Cherry and White in every outing this season, carded a 73 on his first round, a one-under par 69 on the second round, and a 72 on his final round.
Junior Andrew Mason carded a 221 (74-69-78) to tie for 44th. Junior Mark Edmondson (73-72-79, 224, t-51st), junior Joseph Kim (80-72-77, 229, t-59th) and redshirt freshman Devin Bibeau (79-77-78, 234, 68th) rounded out the Owl's squad.
Yale junior Thomas McCarthy took home the individual trophy with a six-under 204 (69-66-60) and led his team back from a seven-shot deficit to claim the team trophy. Yale (842) was followed by Iowa State (845), St. Edwards (851) and Rhode Island (852) in the 15-team field.
The Owls return to the links this weekend when they host the Big 5 Championship, Saturday and Sunday at The Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Pa.
