Owls earn national recognition for first time in program history
PHILADELPHIA – For the first time in program history, the Temple men's cross country team has been ranked 13th in the Mid-Atlantic region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Strong showings at the Haverford Duals, Iona Meet of Champions, and Paul Short Invitational, have garnered the Owls well deserved recognition.
“It is a pretty big deal being that it is the first time that we have ever been ranked,” commented head coach Eric Mobley. “It just shows that coach Matt Jelley and Skip Stiles are doing a great job with the team. It is a great honor for the program.”
The men were recently led to a 23rd place overall finish, thanks in part to a 59th place finish by junior Mike May.
